Avant STAMP WS is a web-based test that assesses language proficiency. It has 4 sections: Reading (Self-Evaluation), Writing, Listening (Self-Evaluation), and Speaking.

The test is semi-computer-adaptive. Test takers are asked to answer 7 self-evaluation “Can Do” questions that best represent their skill/ability level in both the Reading and Listening sections. We use the self-evaluated reading score to determine the level of prompts we deliver for the writing prompts, and the self-evaluated listening score in the same way for the speaking prompts, thus making the productive sections more appropriately leveled for each test taker.

- Do not click outside the test window. This is tracked and will log you out of the test.
- Do not use any support materials (e.g., dictionaries, textbooks, cell phones, apps, messaging tools, or translation aids such as Google Translate).
- Do not take notes (paper-based or electronic). Paper, pens, pencils, styluses, etc. are not allowed.
- Do not read/use any notes or support materials for your speaking/expressive responses.
- Do not communicate with anyone except the proctor during the test.
- Do not share test questions or prompts. Do not copy, print, or take screenshots of the test.
- Do not use violent, profane, or inappropriate language in your responses.

After answering each question, click the “NEXT” button on the bottom right of the screen. Scroll down, if necessary. After clicking the “NEXT” button, you will not be able to go back.

Self-Evaluation “Can Do” questions The Listening section has 7 “Can Do”
questions. Test takers should read each statement carefully and then choose the answer that best describes their ability with this skill.

Recording Time Limit: Each speaking response is limited to 3 minutes.

- Click “NEXT” to submit the response and move to the next screen. After clicking “NEXT“, you will not be able to go back.
نصائح قسم التحدث:

- Remember that you have to limit your speaking response to less than 3 minutes:

استئناف التقييم

- Click “Continue Test” after entering the Test Code and Password.
