In Collaboration with College Board
As part of a shared mission to recognize and reward real-world language skills, Avant is proud to collaborate with College Board to offer online language proficiency assessments in languages not currently available through AP® exams. This initiative supports schools and districts in providing greater access to college credit opportunities—particularly for heritage learners and speakers of less-commonly tested languages.
Ordering Avant’s Assessments
Avant assessments are only available to schools and school districts. We do not sell or administer tests directly to individuals, parents, or students. If you are a parent or student, please connect with your local school or district testing coordinator to request testing.

Designed for Real-World Communication
Avant assessments measure what learners can do with language—in reading, writing, listening, and/or speaking—using real-world tasks and computer-adaptive technology. With 152 languages available, our tests offer a reliable path to college credit and State and Global Seals of Biliteracy recognition, even in languages outside the AP® portfolio.
All assessments:
- Are aligned to national standards for language proficiency
- Are recommended for college credit by the American Council on Education (ACE)
- Deliver reliable, educator-proctored results, either on-site or via Avant’s secure online proctoring
